April 11–14: where RiverX started

The first version of the RiverX agent: describe a change in plain words and it edits your website, creates new pages, works on Next.js apps, remembers the conversation and shows its progress as it goes.

New

RiverX began with one idea: describe what you want changed, and have it done for you. These were the first steps.

What we built

  • Edit a website by describing the change. Type what you want, and the agent updates your site's files and saves the change to your GitHub repository.
  • New pages, not just edits. Ask for a page that does not exist yet, and the agent creates it.
  • Next.js apps as well as HTML sites. The agent learned to work on React apps built with Next.js.
  • Conversations that remember. Chat about a project and the agent keeps the context of what you have discussed.
  • You stay in control. Larger batches of changes wait for your approval before they run.
  • Progress as it happens. Plain-language updates while the agent understands, plans, works and finishes your request.

Behind the scenes we also spent these days making the agent faster and more dependable, so requests finish instead of stalling.
